Situations Of Life
Situations Of Life or simply S.O.L. is a rap group from Orlando, Florida. Originally consisting of up to 7-8 members with the lineup always changing up, now finally consists of 3 core members since 2001-2002. Line up is Sam-PL (rapper and groups producer, so all original exclusive tracks were done by him), Mizery (rapper), and Desert E. (rapper). All members are native New Yorkers, Sam-PL hails from the Bronx, while Mizery and Desert E. (who are blood brothers) hail from Brentwood Long Island. And all members are Puerto Rican. Met in Orlando Florida through networking and hook-ups. Originally Sam-PL's group (He started it), Mizery and several other emcees from Orlando started recording with Sam-PL and loosely called themselves S.O.L. But after several members left( either disloyalty, poor work ethic, and skills not up to par), Desert E. joined the group and the the 3 emcess became the final and stongest line up. Have been recording together ever since. Sadly group founder Sam-PL caught a case and was sentenced to 11 years in prison back in 2002-2003. So now Mizery and Desert E. have been recording together as a duo, with left over tracks from Sam-PL, in hopes that that the 3 will once again come together and smash the industry as soon as possible.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play live whenever we can and as much as possible in the central florida area. We believe a hip hop group ain't nothing if they can't flip a live show.
Your musical influences
Our musical influences are pretty much mid-nineties east coast hip hop. You know, that old good New York Rap, that boom bap. Wu-Tang, Nas, Biggie, Gangstarr, Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth, Boot Camp Clik, Mobb Deep, Jay-Z, Rakim, Krs-One ect.
