Hey, so what's the deal with Single File? A rock band from So-Cal? A jazz combo from Colorado? Something about North Carolina? And who the hell is Laura, anyway? In the end, the story of Single File is far too ridiculous and royally confusing for the bounds of this tiny little bio page. Ok, ok so we're lazy bastards... Long story short, Joe and Sloan have been writing music together since their early years in high school, and have played more shows in more bands together than anyone who cares can keep track of. Strangely, up until the conception of Single File, they played jazz almost exclusively. Aye, a strange step backwards, indeed -- it's not every day that a jazz trio from Colorado somehow devolves from rhythm-changes to three-chord rock. Nonetheless, Single File did just that, and they've been rocking-out ever since. Some might call it punk, where others would probably label it emo, indie, garage, or even power-pop. Really, it's a wee-bit of all the aforementioned; a little something called ROCK. For these three, the future is definitely bright... On that note, here's to taking over the world, three chords at a time. Cheers, --Single File
