SILVERSPACE began jamming at the very beginning of 2000... we are THE hippy trippy jam band for the 21st century!
Fusing together elements of each musicians influences, from Trance to Space-Rock to Dub-Funk and beyond, the SilverSpace Sound is a psychedelic melting-pot of free-spirited improvisation blended into a unique set of tunes around which our live set and recordings are based.
Band/artist history
Since the start of our journey, we have played festivals, free-parties and club dates where we have been free to explore our music thoroughly and build a live set of outer-space dub-rock classics to addle your brain! One of the highlights of this journey was a support slot with Ozric Tentacles and Eat Static at Shepherds Bush Empire in 2002.
All along, we've been putting out CDs which represent the band as it is at any given moment. The LOST IN SPACE cd was released in early 2004 and marked a turing point in the SilverSpace Sound with the addition of space-dub vocalisations and a few tweaks and funny stuff from a Logic computer system and a Sampler. Tracks from this album have made their way around the globe and are currently being played on Colorado-based internet radio station "Earth and Sky" (www.earthandsky.4t.com).
And so we remain... jammin whenever and wherever we can and putting out tunes into the ears of anyone who's listening through our website www.silverspace.co.uk where fans can download new tunes, visit our record store or catch up on news of upcoming gigs. The band are currently working on some new tunes which have already found their way into our live appearances such as the protest song "Run Politician" which we are planning to record as a single for release next year (around May prehaps?!), so watch this space!
