Silver Serpent

Silver Serpent formed in 2002 with Ross and Arran McLellan (Brothers) and their best friend Sefton Kimberley-Downes. We are an Essex based band, who write all of their own music and also build 2D & 3D animated music videos.

The History of Silver Serpent The band officially formed in late January 2000 with members: Sefton Kimberley-Downes, Arran McLellan and Ross McLellan. The original style of music was 'Indie rock'. As time went on the style became more alternative. The band has had several different names but until recently was known as 'Shadowfax'. Since discovering a band in America also called this the name was changed to 'Silver Serpent' in September 2003. The Band played their first gig in June 2001 at the Army and Navy in Chelmsford in Essex. Since the first gig the band has released three E.P's all funded and designed by the band. 'Fly Away' was chosen to be made in to Silver Serpent's first music video, again funded and designed by the band, incorporating computer animated 3D graphics with live footage. 'What if I...?' was made in to a second music video, and at this current moment the band is working on their third video, all of which are available to download from this site. As well as gaining local media coverage they have managed success on the internet. 'Fly Away!' was released on MP3.com getting to number 24 in its alternative music chart.

Silver Serpent has played top London venue 'The Carling Bar Academy' in Islington, 'The West One Four' club and Camden's infamous 'The Bull and Gate' on several occasions, recently headlining. Other gigs include 'The Harlow Square', 'The Twist' in Colchester and 'The Cellar' in Bracknell.
