Shotgun Affair
Shotgun Affair
Shotgun Affair is a new Rock band from Colchester delivering straight up Rock music. They have been together since the end of the summer 2004.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Shotgun Affair is James Murray- Lead Guitar, Tom Fogg- Vocals & guitar, Nick Johnson- Bass & Vocals and James De'ath- Drums. Formed at the end of the summer 2004, they have been gigging since the end of the summer holidays. The band came about as a direct result of a bad audition at a talent show. The classic story of two bands splitting and forming one. Nick, and both the James had been members of a covers band 'Locked and loaded' and Tom was in an originals outfit, 'Alysium'. Nick and Tom started jamming acoustically together and both felt that they prefered that to their own bands. They both then quit their bands and started trying to find a drummer with the idea of forming a three piece. When a drummer could not be found, they recruited back James De'ath from 'Locked and Loaded'. Ideas of a three piece then went out the window when Tom announced, "I can't play fuckin guitar solos- we need a lead player too" James Murray was first choice. The band played one show under the name of Polythene Youth, then changed their name to Shotgun Affair. They are gigging regularly in Essex.
