Hello world. My name's Sheldon Riddle and I'm a singer/songwriter. I've been playing music and writing songs for over 20 years now. I spend my daytime hours working as a professional fund-raiser for several very good charities. In my off time, I'm usually doing something music-related. I love writing and recording music. Most of what I do is acoustic music these days. I got tired of neighbors complaining every time I broke out the electric guitar. Have a listen to my music here and if you like what you hear, then journey over to my myspace website where you can hear more of my songs. Thanks for taking the time to listen to my music. Hope you enjoy what you hear.
Band/artist history
I had a few guitar lessons when I was real young, but mostly I learned guitar, piano, bass, harmonica and drums on my own. I did, however, study entertainment management and recording engineering at the Art Institute in Atlanta, Georgia. I've been doing home recording for about 18 years now. I love that you can create a musical piece on your home PC now without even getting out of your PJ's and then someone half a world away can download it and listen to it while they sit around sipping coffee wearing their own comfy PJ's. :)
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I haven't done a lot of live performing lately. I do enjoy performing when it's the right room.. but mostly i enjoy writing and recording music. I plan to start doing a few shows in the near future. During the summer, I'll be working on recording a new CD that I hope to have released by year's end.
Your musical influences
My musical influences are very diverse. My family's from West Virginia, but I was born in Washington, DC and lived there until I was 13. I learned to appreciate a lot of styles of music spending time in both the country and the city growing up. I'm a firm believer that there's no bad style of music... only bad songs. A few artists I personally admire are: Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, John Lennon, Johnny Cash, David Grey, John Mellencamp, Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers, Bill Withers, Aretha Franklin, Van Morrison and Neil Young. Yeah.. I'm mostly an oldies kinda guy.
What equipment do you use?
I use a cheap ass acoustic guitar... cause I'm a poor guy. I record on my computer using the Acid Pro program. I highly recommend it. It has lots of options and it's pretty easy to use.

Hey sweetheart,
Glad to see you're getting your music around a bit again! This way more people will be able to hear your fabulous creations! Keep them coming and I know you'll go far (even if it's only to England to visit an old/young friend)
