Band/artist history
Sheldon Baker, Sheldon a stage name given to him by an elder in the native community of Timmins, Ontario by a gentle man who was there to watch a show that Sheldon was playing rhythm in. It was that moment that Sheldon had a whole new out look on the entertainment industry. He was born october 4th 1973 in London Ontario His given name being Larry Baker. Raised in Stratford Ontario he was around music his whole life, his mother is Jackie Lynn Baker, herself a performer was on the road , her five kids often by her side on weekends and holidays. Often times she would perform with her sister in law Bonnie Baker, some of you may have known her as Bonnie Baker and the Boogie band. At a majority of the jamborees there he would be Larry Baker. Thanks to his dad Alf Baker who was there and buying drum sets and keyboards for Larry edging him on.From about age 9 and up he was playing drums on stage with mom and aunt Bonnie and who would have known that 21 years later he would be fronting his own show. Western Star was originally started with Larry on the drums. It was his determination and life long dream to be center stage and keep a promise to his brother Tom that he would be famous. It was after a few gigs with drumming for Western Star and an amazing performer Ron Griffin that he really got the itch. Larry then made some phone calls and a few months later there it was the show that he always wanted. Having a great deal of talent behind him the band as u will see in these bios is outstanding. The style of show that Sheldon is performing Has been labeled as "explosive,energetic,high energy". When asked during an interview with The Stratford City Gazette paper what kind of show he likes to produce he stated " I like to be unique and catch the audiences attention from the first song on". Wanting to be different from the ordinary shows when you see a Sheldon Baker performance you will be captivated by the energy and style you see when you attend a show. Then just after a year or so he was asked to perform his show at a large music festival, the show was a smash and he had the honor of opening for the ledgendary Shelly Rastin. Within a month the moment came were Sheldon was given the chance he was waiting for his whole life, Western Star recorded there first cd Perfect Timing With the Original songs that Sheldon wrote the cd was a hit. From there on in it has been great (Cross Current Studios Rocks) . Sheldon looks forward to seeing you at the shows and hopes you enjoy the music he and his guys produce.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes Sheldon and the guys invented the term LIVE youll need to see the show to beleive.... There are three great moments for Sheldon the top one being He opened for Shelly Rastin at a huge music festival in Tillsonburg and He gave his guitar to a young boy who caught his attention and it turned out that the boys family was from russia and had just lost a young daughter to a boming in there town this boy captivated Sheldons Heart. The second and third was when one of Sheldons origonals was played in London England and Calgary BIG CITY COWBOY BLUES check it.

What equipment do you use?
As much as the stage allows, Sheldon loves a huge light and laser production .
Anything else?
Well three goals were set within the last 2 years #1 Record a cd Sheldon has released 2 Perfect Timing #1 hit being Big City Cowboy Blues, #2 Freaky Country with Freaky Country and By your Side. The Second goal was to play infront of more than 1000 people This was accomplished last summer while opening for shelly rastin. (Now the goal is 10,000) HAHAHA. #3 To go to a gig on a tour bus ( ANY TAKERS) lol.
