SHATTERMASK US

My band, SHATTERMASK, is made up of: 1: Tech- (me) guitars, backup vocals 2: 9mm Priest- vocals 3: Boogieman- bass 4: Joshua
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
1999 It began around August, Mike and Josh started jam'n around and loved what they were doing. They both told each other "if you quit your band I'll quit mine." They did this for about a month in a half. Finally they made it so. Mike Introduced a former bass player (Perry) from one of his old bands. Three weeks later Josh introduced a singer (Dennis) from one of his old bands. Three days after they tried out the singer, they played a show at the Creepy Crawl with a national act. Mike then introduced Sid on samples. 2000 As a band born of the millennium, Shattermask spent a lot of their time playing out and writing music. About 5 months into the year their singer went to the Big House. Within a few months they found a replacement (Brent). Shattermask was back writing and playing out. A couple months into having their second singer, Shattermask was approached by 9mm Priest (aka Tech 9, aka Shadow) at a Pop's show. Priest liked what he heard and had been watching the music scene for some time in St. Louis. He had seen what Shattermask was about and then showed them what he was about. It was unanimous. Priest was in..........The two singers worked together for a while till Brent; due to his personal life, was unable to commit any further. 2001 Shattermask came out hard core, entering Monday Night Metals contests and having crowd pulling records at that time. They received a video shoot that was aired on Mid-Coast Mania on channel 4. They also got to open for Nothing Face and Boy Hits Car. 2002 Shattermask opens for From Zero and Dog Fashion Disco. Also they hook up with The Pimps playing shows all over Illinois. Shattermask then takes some time off from playing to record their first CD. A full length album titled " 3 til 3 ". 2003 Having a crowd attendance of over 850 people, Shattermask releases their album in March at Pop's. A few months later due to musical disagreements and personal life, Sid retires from Shattermask. The momentum keeps rising though. Shattermask plays with No One, then earns the opportunity to open for Marlyn Manson and Seether. They began recording a demo CD to give fans a taste of their next album. 2004 Shattermask appears on a skate DVD "The Daily Grind", with many other local bands. Later on they have a surprise release of their EP titled "The Divine God EP", which shows the flexible styles the band. The guys then took a trip to New York to try out for Ozzfest 2005. No they didn't make it, but they proved their dedication, which grows by the day. THE NEXT CD AND DVD ARE GONNA KICK ASS.
