This tight knit all family foursome brings you an all original, in your face heavy grooving Rock-N-Roll you wont want to miss. Influenced by bands such as Dream Theatre, Pantera, GodSmack, and Disturbed they really know how to get the club rockin.
Band/artist history
It all started in the late 70s early 80s with Wayne Rush. As the drummer for locally acclaimed Trick or Treat, Wayne opened up for national acts Kings X, Lizzy Borden, and Dangerous Toys. Etc.....During that year Wayne was voted best drummer by Cincinnati Magazine. After moving on and forming Lion Heart you could hear him being featured on local rock stations WEBN and Z Rock, or opening major acts such as Rick Springfield. After recording their self-titled debut, he then moved on again and formed Cain in the mid 90s. Not before recording another album and opening for more national acts such as Vince Neil, Wayne decided to call it quits.
Then comes son Tony Rush. After listening to son Tony practice his guitar religiously and expressing interest in jamming with dad, Wayne and Tony formed what is now known as SEVERED, back in 2001.
After going through countless singers and bass players and just when they thought there was no one else with the same dedication, they received that call from Steve Howard. Steve had a similar story as Wayne. He had been playing in numerous local bands since the late 80s and had also lost hope in finding a few dedicated people to put together that special project. You could find Steve playing lead guitar and vocals in the late 80s for Affinity. After playing huge local gigs such as the Chili Fest in Northern Kentucky, Steve played in multiple local acts in the early, mid, and late 90s. Steve then formed Vulgar Groove around 2000. After playing and promoting themselves for about a year they were voted by fans as Cincinnatis best live metal act.
During the events of 9/11 Steve rejoined the military. Upon his return home, and knowing what it takes to find people with a similar passion he then convinced his music loving brother and former soundman Aaron Howard to start playing the bass.
Steve then brought SEVERED exactly what it needed, a ballsy singer and a dedicated bassist. Now you have the completed SEVERED. The father-son, brother-brother foursome brings you an all original, in your face heavy grooving Rock-N-Roll you wont want to miss.
Look for their debut release to hit the streets at the end of 2004 and check them out now @ SEVERED.TV
