Band/artist history
The Servants of the Lamb Praise & Worship Ministry was originally organized during Palm Sunday of 2003 through the efforts of its founding leaders. It took a few months and courageous effort to encourage some Filipino members of Immaculate Heart of Mary to join SOL for a Bible Study. Nevertheless, all hard work were paid off with the inclusion of more members and the music lesson from its choir leader, Citas Llanes Bellosillo, a former professional singer and later on, a professional lead singer for the Lord in Servants of the Good Shepherd Community. Citas started the ministry with just a karaoke and a microphone together with her love and knowledge for music. People saw the vision that the Lord has giving her and later on the group that just started with 4 members became 18. To date we have 18 committed members. The choir expanded its borders as they initially sang for the Our Lady of Fatima Rosary Group in November of 2003. From there SOL became the regular choir for the monthly Filipino Mass that was being held in St. Marys. SOL aimed to further foster music as a medium to inspire and to sustain faith among OLFRG members by performing liturgical and sacred songs during Masses and other liturgical celebrations, social as well for PACGL community. And year 2005-2006 the group started helping another Filipino group in Grand Rapids to start the Mass in the vernacular and as well as surrounding communities.
As the cliché goes, changes are inevitable. Thus the group became stronger and closer. However the turning of a new leaf, however reluctant members of the music ministry left that gave way to the recent members whom Citas think will be the stable group in the sense that they have that common denominator which is their love for Jesus and love for music. Moreover being led by a fulltime worker and at the same time Citas other affiliations, that does not limit her from working too hard to get to where the group now. They are successful in their own little way with those limitations it did not hinder them from pressing on according to the leaders Vision Mission. The group continued to do what they love to do while them constantly anchoring them to our Creator who provides what is best for everyone. Spirituality of members, a common problem within most choirs, has also plagued the group during the onset of the rush of trainees and new members (provided and still comes up with) activities for the wholistic development and growth of members aside from the musical training given by their choir leader.
Servants of the Lamb continue to reach out and be of service to the communities from which we belong to up to this very day.
