Serious Aeolian Belfry
Based out of Cleveland, OH, SAB has been amusing audiences with their unique brand of funk-rock, r&b and swing style since 2000. The broad stylistic base they cover is the perfect underpinning for the humorous lyrics of such crowd-pleasers as Me Gusta (a latin rocker about being unable to speak Spanish), Edith (a soulful groove number about how a good looking woman is still attractive by any name), and Pickup Trucks (a country jamboree about true trailer park lifestyle).
SAB has played popular clubs and hangouts all over Ohio and elsewhere. Their debut CD, What The Hell Is This?!? is already creating a major buzz on local college radio stations and in clubs.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The Belfry was formed in the late 90s by three college friends... two guitarists and a bass player. They met their drummer at an open jam night and soon added a roomate/highschool pal as keyboardist and composer. After the departure of a guitarist and a lead singer / composer / keyboardist, SAB now exists as a quirky quartet, playing bars and college hangouts and always bringin a smile to the face or a jaw to the floor.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
SAB plays all over the place. They can often be found at The Grog Shop in Cleveland Heights.
