While aspiring singer, songwriter and actress Sequoia has made her presence known on the stage, she longs to make a name for herself in the music industry. At twenty-two, this talented young woman has used her own life as well as events common to the human experience to create a soulful and fun mixture of urban and pop music. This young siren definitely has a style all her own and is able to reach audiences of all ages and walks of life. She writes all of her own material and currently has over thirty songs. Her influences include classic crooners such as Sam Cooke and Marvin Gaye as well as new marvels such as Alicia Keys, Jill Scott and John Legend, to name a few. With songs like Dreams and Clubbin Sequoias music is definitely a link between old school and new.

I love old school greats like Sam Cooke and Johnny Taylor, but I'm also a big fan of new artists such as Alicia Keys, Musiq Soulchild, John Legend, Jill Scott, Angie Stone....and many others.
