Seed - PFM

Seed is the one and only Pure Fuggin Metal(PFM) band... but with a slight twist. We love all sorts of music, and our sound combines death metal with bits of any other style that catches our fancy. Similar artists include Opeth, Meshuggah, Shadows Fall, In Flames, and Into Eternity.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Seed, a melodic heavy metal outfit, is the result of two smaller groups of musicians joining together to create a single band. In early 2003, bassist Kyle Paradis and guitarist Jack Cuneo were desperately trying to form a quality metal group. Although the two of them had a bit of skill and some decent songs written, they had a great deal of trouble finding drummers and singers willing to invest themselves in a serious heavy metal band. At the same time, guitarist Brandon Tandy, vocalist Jared Lee, and drummer John Marocco were also trying to piece together a complete lineup. The three musicians eventually met Jack and asked if he knew any good bass players, and he suggested that they listen to Kyle play. Soon after(mid-March), a practice was set up and Seed played together as a complete unit for the first time. The practice went quite well, and Kyle and Jack were invited to join Brandon, Jared, and John in their diabolical plans to dominate THE ENTIRE WORLD... ...or perhaps just northeastern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire.
Your musical influences
We'll play anything that sounds good to us... most of which(but certainly not all) involves heavily distorted guitar riffs, skillful and technical solos, and both singing and screaming vocals. We are heavily influenced by progressive rock and Swedish melodic death metal, and our favorite artists and biggest influences include Dream Theater, Arch Enemy, Opeth, Symphony X, Pain of Salvation, Incubus, In Flames, Shadows Fall, Dimmu Borgir, A Perfect Circle, Lamb of God, Steve Vai, Soilwork, etc.
