Dark Rock Band straight out of La Crescenta, California!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
SECTION 8 was originally formed three years ago by Yannick (bassist, 18) and Jason (vocals and guitar, 18) in La Crescenta California. The teens had decided to start a band with a sound that would shatter the mold for music at the time. The two went through several different members but no one could break through the standards they had set up. Only until after they started playing with Anton (drummer, 20) and Matt (vocals and lead guitar, 18) did they feel that SECTION 8 was finally complete. This rock band with a metal edge has cut through the local scene and is ripping up the old rock standards to step up to a new level. The Dark Rock sound they developed had those who came to see the band mesmerized by their powerful lyrics and harmonious chords. With their highly charged performances and after having played such highly recognized venues as the Palace and Whisky, SECTION 8's name had become a familiar sound to local teen's ears. SECTION 8's fan base grew everyday after the release of their debut EP "Destroy the World Before Bedtime", recorded by the same producer Lior Goldenberg who did such acts as Rancid, Blink 182 and Andrew WK.
After having built a loyal and dedicated fan base, the four piece from La Crescenta decided it was time to head back into the studio. With the aid of their producer Lior Goldenberg and mixer James Murray the band began pre-production on the new EP. After 3 months of hard work, "The Halo Effect" was complete. The explosive dark rock EP set a new standard for indie musicians. With the help of their new EP and current fan base SECTION 8 is touring and spreading their influence wherever they can.
