Sean Michael O'Keefe
Sean Michael O'Keefe is a singer/songwriter based in Boston. Sean studied theater at the Etobicoke School of the Arts and the University of Toronto.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
A graduate of the Etobicoke School of the Arts and the University of Toronto's theater program, Sean Michael O'Keefe is a singer/songwriter who first came to prominence as founding member and principle songwriter for Freshwater Drum , a fixture on the Toronto club scene in the 1990's. After three albums and countless live shows, Sean headed west to Vancouver where he started work writing and co-producing his first solo effort, "Moving to Memphis", released in 2001.
Over the next few years Sean spent time in Nashville and New Orleans, two years in Austin, San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country, and co-produced two beautiful little girls. He then headed west again, to San Francisco to see what they knew, and then all the way across the country to Boston, because - Lobstah.
In Sean Michael O'Keefe's music, you will find a unique blend of country, Americana , and melodic pop with clever, tight arrangements, bittersweet lyrics and catchy melodies.
His credits include signing with a music publisher on Nashville 's Music Row, a featured interview in American Songwriter Magazine, and numerous songwriting awards. Sean has been seen live and on television throughout the United States and Canada including performances on MUCH MUSIC and at the groundbreaking MARIPOSA FOLK FESTIVAL. He has shared the stage with acts such as THE BARENAKED LADIES, THE PROCLAIMERS, RON SEXSMITH and EDIE BRICKELL.
