Alternative General

I met a girl who taught me that she was everything in a round about sort of way....a good catch to say the least.

Isn't that how it is? Now, put it in a song and it takes on life of it's own. Put it in real life and you'll find that it's better put back in

the song.

Life's funny. Everything you'd expect leaves you with things you'd never expect. People are strange....and they change. It's not a bad thing, but bad things sometimes happen because of it. Go figure?

My name's Sean. I'm a singer and a guitar player.....in that order. Used to be the other way around, but I had to make a decision so I did. I write stuff. mostly songs, but sometimes stuff like this. It may confuse some people, or bother others, but I really don't give a damn because if you've gotten this far, you're probably not confused or bothered, but quite possibly interested or you may just happen to spend way too much time thinking just like I do.

K, back to the songs.....because that's really what this is all about.

I once rehearsed with a band (once) that wanted to write original music. I sang. The entire thing ended for me when someone sneered at the fact that I used the word "love" in a song that I had scribbled down during a 10 minute break while the rest of the "band" went out and got stoned.

Now I write what I want and you aren't likely to hear it until it's in a semi-finished state.....I like it that way. But once it gets to that point I'm usually pretty excited to share it. Of course, I was told when I was a kid by my teachers that I didn't accept self-criticism......still working on that.

What else? Hmmm.....well, my parents are from New York. Spent some time as a kid doing that thing. Grew up in Vermont near Canada (right near) with 4 sisters & my brother. Had two options, hang out on the street corner in a small town or.....wait, that was it. I chose instead to teach myself guitar in my bedroom while listening to one of my sisters tell me how much I sucked. She's since hired me and/or the band I was in on numerous occasions.

I've shared stages recently with people & bands like Gary Cherone (Extreme, Van Halen), Brian Vander Ark (The Verve Pipe), David Gates (Bread), O-town, Larry The Cable Guy and a bunch of others, but I'm just trying to give you an idea. Before this solo thing, I did the band thing.....lead guitarist, backup singer. That's enough about that.

Oh yeah, I have a habit of just leaving some of my writings unfinished.

Have you performed in front of an audience?

Yes, normally throughout the northeastern US. Like it? Yeah....it has it's moments, though. The shows with 1000+ people give the coolest feeling.....although smaller, intimate venues have a lot to be said for on certain nights.

Your musical influences

I grew up listening to bands like Bon Jovi (that's kind of a category all in itself, huh?). I'm a huge fan of Alice In Chains, The Goo Goo Dolls, Sister Hazel.....just like new stuff, too.

What equipment do you use?

Live- Acoustic Guitars.....Studio - Full Production
