Sean Gibson
This is the solo project. I'm in a band called Friars Point. The band is alot harder and louder. It's nice to get my more mellow stuff heard.

Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I started playing guitar when i was around 11 years old. I was heavily into stuff like Nirvana, Soundgarden, Metallica and stuff like that.
Then i heard B.B.King and John Lee Hooker. After that i was hooked on the blues and jazz. When i was a freshman in high school i got invited into the jazz band at Southwestern Oklahoma University. I learned alot there.
When i finally got around to forming my own band i was interested in melding all these influences into a strange sort of 'heavy blues'.
Since then i've been writing songs and playing live. I'm always trying to change what i write to sound different then the previous song. I'm still working on a few things, but i think i have a formula. I know it sounds like a mad scientist in a lab but sometimes that's how i feel. I hope you like it.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yea, I like to play live. You can record as much as you can and still not come close to the energy of playing live. I love it. But what musician doesn't love to play for other people?
I play where ever people will let me make some noise. There have been so many special moments that stand out in my memory (playing the first show with my current band, playing an acoustic show with a sax player, getting into a fight with someone heckling us onstage) that it would be nearly impossible to list them all.
Your musical influences
Anyone who writes good songs.
What equipment do you use?
My favorite acoustic guitar is my Taylor. I just bought a Fender American Standard Strat. I use a Fender Hot Rod Deville 4 10".
