With thousands of cd's sold and close to a million downloads on the web, Scott is ready to step up to the next level in Spring of 2002. Stay tuned for more!!!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
One could imagine what a singer/songwriter's first album would sound like if he had never stepped foot in a studio before. Especially if he produced it himself. 1999, much to the amazement of leading indie-critics, Scott Meldrum turned out a self-produced, debut effort to rival major label releases. His sparsely arranged pop anthems (in the vein of Crowded House, Del Amitri, and Chris Isaak) soon became the favorite among artists, critics and fans around the world.
Scott's web presence was also felt, amassing close to one million downlaods of his songs. Scott's single "crush" tracked favorably on over 120 college stations and hit #1 at a handful of stations.
With an impressive album, solid airplay and opening slots for Jan Arden, The Young Dubliners, Duke Daniels, Gillian Welsh, Berlin and Luka Bloom, Scott's at the pinnacle of indie-success and will no doubt, continue to surprise us all!
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes, anywhere and everywhere. I like smaller, more intimate venues. I really like opening for National acts and performing for people who have no clue as to who I am.
Your musical influences
Neil Finn, Del Amitri, Jeff Buckley, Frank Sinatra
