Scott Lindsey
Hi! Glad you found my page. I've been playing piano all of my life and after playing everyone else's music, I decided to do my own thing. The songs you see are a few of my most recent. Hope you like them.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
My roots are in classical music (Bach is a favorite). I've played everything from bluegrass to rock and had a lot of fun with all of it. In addition to the piano, I play the pipe organ for church, and acoustic guitar when I'm taking a break from the piano. I get together with friends whenever I can and swap out on a stand-up bass, mandolin, banjo or fiddle (not violin).
I started thinking seriously about doing something on my own 2 years ago. "The Last Smile" was my first original composition. I released a Christmas CD last fall and am currently working on my first original CD.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes. Primarily in churches. I'm the organist for my church so that's every week. Other than that it's for special things - like my Christmas CD I did last fall.
Your musical influences
My influences were Floyd Cramer early on and Dino during my college years. Jim Brickman's style is very similar style to mine. George Winston is another favorite. My music is relaxing - both for me to play it, and for you to listen.
What equipment do you use?
I play a Kawai piano, and the music you hear on my site was recorded using a Kawai MP9500 stage piano. I work mostly in my home studio using a PC and SONAR 2.1 to record.
Anything else?
I hope to have the CD with the songs you'll hear on my page ready by next spring. I'll let you know when it's out!
