Scarcity Recordz was formed in 2002 and consists of three members: Ballistic (Emcee), Flawless (Producer/Emcee/Beatmaker), and Unbreakable (Emcee). We are based in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada and proudly represent the tamil hip hop scene that is slowly emerging here. Our goal is to represent a variety of hip hop styles, and merge it with the tamil music industry as well.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
As mentioned, Scarcity Recordz was created in 2002 and the members all went to the same high school. We were all in grade 10 when Scarcity came about, and it started off just as pastime as we started it all by dissing another local crew known as Young and Dangerous Records. Since then, we have changed up our style and still stand as one today.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We have not had any live performances yet. This is something we do as a hobby as we continue to produce music at a consistent, steady rate.
Your musical influences
We have no influences locally but in the big industry, we would have to say Eminem, Tupac, 50 Cent, Biggie, and Easy-E (to name a few.)
What equipment do you use?
A mic, producing software, beatmaking program, and a pen and a pad... that's about all we need.
