Sarsekim are a 5 piece Melodic Death Metal band hailing from Adelaide, South Autralia.
Band/artist history
Sarsekim formed in 1998 in Adelaide, South Australia after changing their name from Dark Intent and reforming the bands line-up. In late 2000 Sarsekim recorded their first EP "Aegri Somnia Vana". At that time the band consisted of David Williams on vocals, Nicolas Cole on drums, Brendan Mueller on guitar, Aaron Tuck on guitar, and Jesse Van Beurden on Bass guitar. The EP was recorded during the night in twelve hours at the School of Audio Engineering in Adelaide. It was engineered by local death metal veteran Damon Good.
Sarsekim have since gone through numerous line up changes and now consist of four of Adelaides top Death Metal Musicians. Original members David Williams and Aaron Tuck remain on vocals and guitars respectively, while James Bailey now plays drums and guitarist Darren McLennan completes the line up....
In Late 2004 the band entered Sound House Studios in Adelaide under the supervision of Producer Anj to record what is now known as "Paroxysm". This two track E.P was recorded in a mere 2 days and mixed down in one. The E.P was mastered at Disc Edits in Adelaide by Neville Clark. The result is a combination of classic death metal chops with a newer, tighter sound that is vastly different from the way Sarsekim sounded circa "Aegri...", and also has abstract acoustic interludes and lead guitar work.
