Saracenos
Saracenos is a Philippine-based Power-Pop band. Saracenos is made-up of six individuals from different musical backgrounds, but share the same passion for playing ang writing feel-good music.Band/artist history
Saracenos was formed in January 2006 by former band mates Eldwin Marfil (rhythm guitar and keyboard), Melvin Sia (vocals), and Jhornie Labarda (bass guitar). They invited a good friend Winnie Miroy to play the drums. Eldwin’s officemate Ricky Artigas initially played lead guitar but begged-off after only a few weeks. He was soon replaced by Dennis Villafuerte. By the middle of May 2006, Ramon Alberto joined the band to play keyboards. Although new to the group, both Dennis and Ramon adjusted well to the setting within Saracenos. This is proof of the adaptability of both musicians.
In July 2006, Eldwin had to leave the band temporarily to go to the United Kingdom. Saracenos became dormant and the other members pursued their music with other groups. But they still practiced together and were able to record demos. Dennis was replaced during the process of recording by Ray Necio. The arrival of Ray added a new dimension and depth to the Saracenos sound.
The current Saracenos boasts of an impressive and kick-ass line-up. Eldwin is slated to return from England to the Philippines in October 2007 to assume the slot he vacated in 2006.Admin
