Samuel Sanchez a Mexican American from McAllen, Texas born on February 5, 1964, to parents of Mexican-Spanish and Jewish heritage. His musical career began early, at the age of 12 performing in the secular world. Than at the age of 25 he truly turned around and became a Christian Gospel singer.  Samuel recorded his first album as a singer than began traveling across the nation and overseas and soon became to international prominence constantly performing all over United States, Canada, Europe, Mexico and Central & South America. 

Samuel has also done a lot of TV and Media presentations both Christian and secular. 

He has dedicated part of his time to engage in special activities such as Philanthropic, Social and Humanitarian. Speaking to students about motivation, staying in school, Venereal Disease (STD), abstinence, premature pregnancy, abortion, alcohol and drug abuse in many schools across the nation and abroad.

On January 7th, 1996, Samuel Sanchez and Fortaleza Ministries held its first service at the corner of Business 83 and Nebraska Rd. in San Juan, TX. . Services continued at that same address and another location in McAllen, TX. For more than four years before Fortaleza expanded and moved into to its current interim location in Atlanta. 

The growth of the congregation generated the need for increased service times and intermittent venue changes. Having become a large congregation in so little time, we continue to pray and study the examples set by other large churches in America to gain wisdom in serving and equipping the spectrum of believers that call FORTALEZA their home. 
By the prompting of the Holy Spirit in answer to the needs of the congregation and surrounding community, the staff and volunteers of FORTALEZA MINISTRIES have developed over 20 ministries which serve to deepen the faith of believers and reach out to the unsaved. 

To help people encounter God's Word on an intimate and personal level, the Small Group Ministry and El Taller Del Maestro (The Masters Workshop) was established in 2006. In these home fellowship groups, members of FORTALEZA CHURCH study and discuss the Bible while building tight-knit communities of prayer, support, and ministry outreach. Small Groups meet during the week in homes, cafes, offices and parks as far north as Gainesville and as far south as Forest Park. 

In 2005 FORTALEZA acquired a Radio Station to broadcast the gospel from Atlanta to the world transmitting simultaneously through 1040 AM Radio Frequency and our internet Radio (www.fortalezaradio.org). Since then, FORTALEZA hasnt stop performing all types of events in various capacities especially in favor and benefit of our community.

FORTRESS UNIVERSITY AND BIBLE INSTITUTE was established in 2008 as a Theological Resource for our church and others. Two years later, it expanded into a full-fledged Bible institute, offering various courses in off-site school classrooms. Today FORTALEZA continues to provide a dynamic training program where all believers can receive biblical guidance, tools and training in order to grow in Christ. 

FORTALEZA is currently preparing to move to our permanent location at 1605 Lakes Parkway, Lawrenceville, GA. 30043. Looking back at the journey of acquiring and designing such an incredible facility, we are astounded by God's faithfulness and blessings. 

We wait in awe and wonder to see God's plans come to fruition as FORTALEZA grows in faith and knowledge of the Lord. As the future becomes the present, our goal is to walk in daily obedience to Him, carrying out our mission to save, equip, and send out soul-winners for Jesus Christ.
