When you find yourself surrounded by faith-driven, highly-energized, infectiously original modern rock music, you're probably close enough to hear the band Saline...
Band/artist history
Formed in 2001, Saline is a five member band comprised of: John Messner (vocals), Matt Kann (bass), Dan Maurer (guitar/ bgv), John Kramer (drums/bgv), & Eugene Korn (lead guitar). These five musicians bring different musical backgrounds & approaches to Saline and merge them into a sound that is infectiously original & melodically appealing to both the young & young at heart. In the short time that Saline has been together, they have shared the stage with national recording artists Lincoln Brewster & the Apologetix. Saline has played to festival crowds at events such as "Encounter," and âœImpact.â In 2004, Saline was nominated & selected to perform at the first annual Pennsylvania âœCelebration on the Hillâ for the American Cancer Society at the State Capitol. Saline has also recorded, produced, and distributed two independent albums of original work. Salineâs debut, âœListen,â was released in 2002. Early 2005 found the release of their second full length album entitled "Less of Me" featuring the songs "Back to You" & "Take". Saline's highly anticipated sophomore release was recorded, engineered & mastered at Saturation Acres Studios under the guiding hands of Bret Alexander and Paul Smith (Breaking Benjamin, The Badlees). Due in part to the overwhelming response to âœLess of Me,â in its first week of release, Saline was ranked in the top three for all unsigned Pop bands by daily view & was simultaneously ranked in the top three for all unsigned Christian bands by daily view on the indie music site, purevolume.com. Media buzz surrounding Saline has been fervent. Renown Magazine's editor Josh McConnell states that Saline's songs are "very well written & donât compromise quality...all of which have incredibly catchy hooks." He also adds, "the band is talented & can craft some great tunes." Brad Bowman of ChristainXtreme.com calls Saline's music "powerful" with an "infectious sound & a rock solid message." He even calls one song "an inspirational classic!" Journalist Amanda Mantone, winner of the prestigious Religion Newswriters Association Chandler Award, describes Saline as "a band growing towards a big future." Salineâs reputation for performing highly energetic live shows with an emphasis on crowd participation is legendary. Coupled with an extensive library of contemporary praise songs & hook laden originals, dedicated fans travel far and wide to hear Saline perform.
