Saddlestitch
Hailing from the City of Mississauga bringing a truly flexible sound of different musical styles stitched in one genre hence the birth of Saddlestitch, a combination of 5 talented artists bound together by a deep passion for music. It all began when brothers Mickey (drums) & J.C.(bass) - originally from Stolen Pie were in need of new band members. In the fall of 2005, Anjo (producer) referred Ezer(lead guitars and 2nd vocals) who found waiting for his former band mates outside of a music store in Toronto. He brought in an incredible range of musical knowledge and skill to the band and is evident in his creative songwriting and melodies, adding diversity to the sound with his influences of alternative and pop rock. The rhythm guitarist Mike who adds more character to the creative process with his impact on metal and punk music compliments. Mickey provides that distinct drumbeats and through the use of J.C's bass lines gives that energy and control drawn on the influences of musical styles; including ska, new wave and old school music. Resorting to scanning the World Wide Web for that missing link, eventually they found a girl who didn't think they were stalkers. It didn't really stop Ellen Pura (vocals) even with a few years of experience and an R&B background to sing a few songs from No doubt and Cambio at Mickey's basement from then on the rest is history. Delivering a riff-shredding and catchy happy/dark tunes, Saddlestitch is every inch an eclectic mix of personalities, musical background & influences - but that's where the pigeonholing ends!Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes, we do play live. We have a gig at least twice a month and mostly on the Toronto area. We even entered a contest and won 1st prize.
