Band/artist history

Raw talent and the love for music were the first things KJae, D.L. and Dayze noticed about each other when they met three years ago in a small rehearsal hall in San Bernardino, California. It was all inside of Suite 100 that the boys rehearsed and formed more than just a group, but a bond of fierce loyalty and unity.
With a shared passion for the R&B explosion of the 80’s, and inspired by such heavyweight acts as New Edition, Boys II Men, and Anita Baker, the boys got to work. They stepped up their game with a “superstar look”, electrifying dance moves, and lyrics that define their lives and musical vision. The trio ultimately became “S1”and signed with Southern California’s own Totalee Yôô-nék Entertainment.

Their first release S1 received critical acclaim and featured hits like “So Hood”, “Girls Playin’ Games”, and their rendition of the New Edition classic, “Can you Stand the Rain?” The arrangements were classic, allowing for S1’s expressive vocals to weave in and out of stories about young love. Their hard work eventually paid off with spins on both national and college radio, and received international attention by way of a Japanese distribution deal.
These days the group is touring and in the studio working on their second album. The first single, “I Found My Girl on MySpace”, scheduled to drop in the fall of 2006, is a ballad about finding love on the world’s most popular social networking site. But, Keith Kelsaw of Totalee Yôô-nék Entertainment explains “While the internet is a great way to meet new friends and fans, we do want to spread a message about using good judgment when socializing on-line.” And KJae continues, "We love the ladies and the ladies love us, but don't get it twisted we are all about respect!"
Although the journey for these young artists has just begun, their strength and determination collectively has held up against the demands of this competitive business. And by keeping with their motto, “It’s all for S1,” this trio is destined to become a force to be reckoned with in today’s urban music industry.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes we are a singing & dance group currently we are showcasing at festivals, high school tours and the Black College Expo Tour.
