POINTS OF NOTE The band was formed on Dec. 8, 1996?
the anniversary of John Lennon?s death.
Blending their staggeringly catchy melodies with instinctively crafted harmonies and guitar hooks, this Canadian foursome always has you listening for more. With a diverse range of bright up-tempo pop tunes to low, dark ballads, a consistent line of new sounds and ideas keeps you on your toes. Influences range from bands such as ?the Beatles?, ?Oasis?, ?RadioHead? and ?the Who?, to name a few.
From Vancouver, B.C., the unsigned act has put its foot down as one of the city?s more established acts. Appearances on TV, regular radio play with live interviews, and performances at many larger venues in the surrounding area all support this. But they are not just confined to their local. A recent tour to L.A., as well as a tour to England proved to be very enlightening, and of which uplifted their aspirations even more so. With a 12 song cd circulating, a tour of England set for early next year, and amounting interest from industry representatives, the Rye Catchers are certainly poised for bigger things to happen.Have you performed in front of an audience? The Rye Catchers have played live in Los Angeles, Liverpool, London, and in their home town of Vancouver, Canada.
