Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Running From Reason started in the summer of 2003. Originally known as Abnormal, James (guitar/vocals), Ben (drums) and Dave (guitar) began covering songs. After early line-up changes, the band became James (guitar), Ben (drums), Rob (vocals) and Dan (bass). Soon after getting together, they played at Linton Rock Concert 2003. The band matured, changed its name, and began writing original material. In the space of a couple of months, 9 songs were created. The band began playing small scale gigs at LVC to promote these songs. "Work In Progress" E.P was recorded in early 2004, and was sent to the Strawberry Fair Comittee, who loved it and gave the band a half hour slot to fill. The performance attracted a large audience, and Running From Reason gained many fans. Linton Rock Concert 2004 was another great gig for the band, and were rated as one of the best bands of the night. Another couple of songs have been written in the past few months, and the band are about to begin recording their first full-length album.
Running From Reason, although having been together for a year and a bit, is still in its early stages. With some luck, Running From Reason hope to be one of Cambridgeshire's biggest bands in a few years time. Any support is greatly appreciated, and the band is hugely grateful to all their fans.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We love to play live, that's like asking if a politician likes to lie.....hmm, leave that at..FUCK YEAH.
Your musical influences
Each of us brings a different kind of style to the band - James' riffs are influenced largely by Misfits or early AFI ; Dan chuggs away at bass heavy metal style ; Ben brings a range of drumming, from punk rock to metal ; and Rob adds fuzzy melodies to the mix.
We've kind of wandered off the subject a bit...
Recently however, James left the band and has been temporarily replaced by Ian Mcnick.
What equipment do you use?
We use: Guitars, Basses and Drums, yes we are THAT cutting edge!
Anything else?
we like:making noise, having fun, eating, sleeping, getting drunk and walking to abington.....being friends.
