Pain in my Soul Pain in my Soul
There was pain when I went through it, pain when I wrote it, and pain when I recorded it...one of those female experiences. Thanks to free beat from adad records.
RuKiya FAizah is a sistah whose soul is inspired by poetry because this life is poetry. Every sound, every thought, every movement, each breath breeds poetry. This is a woman who was founded in chaos and became grounded in truth. A constant metamorphosis of being.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I use to read poetry. I have not lately. I may begin again in the near future. Maybe.
Your musical influences
I'm into so many things and influenced by the world. In particular, the poets from the Harlem Renaissance, Black Arts Poetry of the 1960s & 1970s, and Hip Hop. Then, add a fusion of spirituality including (but no limited to) Buddhism, Taoism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam. Then, mix in some New Age Hippie Love. Point being...I am open to all things. The ultimate goal is truth.
What equipment do you use?
My mind.
