Ed is from Bellevue.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Band history - hummmmmmmmm... Well, 3 of us in the band have been together for the longest 8 years of my life. But we have developed a really good friendship. Rude Mood had been trying to put together a rockin' electric blues band for a while with no luck in sight of finding the kind of front man they were looking for. Since none of the guys could sing a whole night, but, they can play some kick ass rockin' electric blues. I had asked a couple of times if I could try out and was told no,But, persistance paid off and I was given a shot. After the first song, hell half way through the first song, I got the gig - which to me was awsome. That was because I was getting to play music with my favorite quitar player - Mr. John Shetzer - who is Northwest Ohio's finest guitar player. (Just ask him, he'll tell you all about it!) Many back-up musicians have come and gone through the years. You know how bands go. But, here is the true band: JOHN SHETZER: Lead guitar and back-up vocals. I would have to say his most popular years were with the outstanding, original WUZZ BAND (Records available for a small fee.) MOONSHINE (RENT IS DUE) GARY KEATON: Bass guitar. Poor Gary. By nature Gary is a very fine guitar player. But they forced him to play bass and he has become, in my mind and the mind of others, one of the finest around. Gary did play a little in a couple of bands, but none like this. SHANE MCCONNELL: Drums. Shane played death metal for years and did some touring, with who I don't know because I hate death metal. Anyhow, we went out to Arizona with our wives and I converted him to the blues by taking him to see W.C. Clark. He has been hooked ever since and has been with this rockin' band for over a year. RUSSELL ADKINS: Lead vocals and harmonica: I had been playing country music for about 15 years in many bands and had given up on music after being spanked and sent home from Nashville. When I had the chance to play with these guys, I came out of my so called retirement. It has been a blast. Our main man Mr. Ron Willamson, with out Ron I believe the would be lost. Ron can do 10 things at once (mostly for John) from set to tear down to fighting of the women Ron is the best.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We only play dead! It's easier that way! Special moments? - Had a couch up on stage and had women on it! What more do I need to say?
Your musical influences
My influence is country. My father, Wendel Adkins, who is huge in Norway/Sweden/England and is now singing with Waylon Jennings' band, known as the Waylors, is my idol. Delbet McClinton isn't so bad either. (My wife even sang with him.)Everybody else .......John Shetzer - loves all kind of music, except country. He is known as Mr. D.J. and has brought many songs to the band including the many originals that we perform. Gary Keaton- humm, who knows besides Daryl & Allie, oh yeah - MOONSHINE. Shane McConnell still likes that 80s rock and listens to it quite often.
Anything else?
THESE GUYS ROCK - FROM THE PARTYING WIVES! ALSO VIST WENDEL ADKINS ON SOUNDCLICK FOR SOME GOOD MUSIC.
