Rondo is a rock band.
Band/artist history
At the beginning of 2003 a couple of friends decided that they wanted to start the creative process and make music again on their own. Drummer Ben Garrett and roommate Brett Bowden(bass) started gathering ideas on formulating a band. Brett had formed a musical relationship with old friend Seth Brewton while they were playing as live musicians in another band. Ben and Brett thought it would be a good idea to bring Seth into the mix. After the years of gaining experience on stage with a other bands, he would make a perfect front man for the new project. After spending some time together writing, the band decided that a second guitar was necessary to fill out the sound. Years ago Seth and Ben played together in a band called Brinkley. Brinkley featured Jed Barnett on bass guitar. Although, the bass is his main instrument, he’s a shredder on guitar which made him perfect for the final member of the band. The quartet found themselves in a rehearsal space practicing 3 times a week. Writing songs that challenged themselves and spending time on making each one perfect. The band formulated a textured rock sound. A sound comparable to that of the Foo Fighters or maybe Hey Mercedes, but with a lot of layered melodies. Although the work was tedious at times, the payoff was worth it. Visits from the Red Bull truck also helped the band pull through. After writing some songs and making the band, the guys cleverly decided on the name Rondo. After playing a couple shows, Rondo employed old friend Chris Staples to come record an EP. Chris did a great job of capturing the music, and you may pick up a copy of “the oh cool RONDO neat ep” now from the Rondo store.
