We are Robotkin. We are a band who is influenced by many different genres and hopefully our sound is the result. We try to strip down our ideas incredibly as well. We have schooling and study in music theory as well as sound design and set up so when we make the music we try to stick to just that. For example My partner Badnon is very bass heavy organized player when it comes to music and I on the other hand am very high reliant and textured in my own playing which when mixed I think gives our music a whole new level and also gives us some what of a basic organic Eq in a way. The rest is purely motivational and influential.Band/artist history
Kryst was in a band prior to Robotkin which was called Necromantics which was a heavy industrial band with very straight forward musical practice to it.
Badnon was in several bands prior to Robotkin all very electronica.
Kryst and Badnon had for a long time previous been friends and have gathered together to jam a few times along with band mates from previous bands. Until recently though Kryst and Badnon had finally came about and realized they had a very common idea of what direction music should be going and not long afterwards robotkin was formed.Have you performed in front of an audience?We have yet to play live for in house sit ins or jams in front of a handful of people never anything big. One special moment was a improve jam that has been dubbed F*ck Fred Durst.
Your musical influences
Kryst guitar playing is influenced by Justin of Godflesh and Larry of Primus. His vocals are influenced by Tom Waits, Ohgr, and Blixa. His music construction and layering ideas are influenced by Syd Barrett and Roger Waters of Pink Floyd, and Neubauten, as well as Cevin Key.
Badnon is very percussion heavy oriented and favors such bands as Ministry and Download as well as countless others.What equipment do you use?
We use a Rolland 405 amp, Ibanez drop tuned 7 string, Roland bass,Boss SD-1, Boss MT-2, Boss GE-7, DOD FX90, Dunlop GCB-95, Realistic Concertmate -670, Peavey PVM 22, Madtracker 2, Renoise, and Sonic Foundry SOund Forge.Anything else?
