Rob Machado
I started playing guitar in April 2005, and when looked over the course of a year, I split my playing between the electric guitar and the classical guitar.
When playing Fingerstyle acoustic, it gives me a feeling of peacefulness and wholeness. I like the process of learning and memorizing a song, then taking my time to make it fluid and to add expression. And, I've gotten to the point of having 2 hours worth of material plus about 40 minutes of Xmas music. I love playing this style of guitar, and I'll play almost anywhere I'm allowed to.
With the electric, I started with barre chords and worked my way up to soloing. It's taken a long time, but I can now hold my own. I've put our two instrumental rock CDs with a fourth scheduled to go to print in January 2012.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
With the acoustic, I'll play live anywhere. With a rechargable amp, I'm totally portable.
Most memorable moment(s) was playing along a 10K run in Santa Cruz, CA along with 40 other bands, for 15,000 people. I have now done this four times in a row, and it's a lot of fun.
