Robin DiIoia
I am a songwriter and educator. I wrote 17 songs for my music and movement class at the local YMCA becuase there were no songs available at that time that would help me teach the skills and lessons I needed. The album is called "Musically Moving Adventures". Each song on the album has a specific theme and purpose. My idea for the album was to give parents a way to have a music and movement class at their own time and convience without a teacher. I have vocal instructions at the beginning of each song to help the parent and child know what activity to do.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Robin's first recording of songs for children was released in 1998 on the Wonder Child Label. It is called "Musically Moving Adventures". This program is the first in a series of music programs for parents or teachers of 3 to 5 year olds. Sing, dance listen and explore music with your children with this playful, educational collection of original songs.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I perform live in the Philadelphia area. I also am the vocalist for a jazz band called "Unstuck In Time"
Your musical influences
I learned to play guitar listening to Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Peter, Paul and Mary and Carol King.
