ROBERT FARMER WILL BE SEEING RED ON MAY 17th. HOLLYWOOD, CA Rock artist Robert Farmer has announced the release of his new album, Seeing Red, set to hit streets on May 17. Farmer recently signed on with A&R Select, Hollywoods leading indie A&R firm. Farmer writes and performs what he describes as atmospheric rock fused with improvisational feel, using traditional, electronic and other instruments from around the world. He is an award-winning musician, taking home both solo artist of the year and best song of the year honors in 2007 competition. His CD In a Dream contributed two songs to the soundtrack for Revelation, whose trailer will also feature a Farmer song. A music video is also in the works. IOM Magazine printed a piece on Farmer and also offered an extremely positive review and a one on one interview conducted by Colin Lynch, executive director of www.rcatcommunications.com. Farmer was a featured artist in Merge Weekly Entertainment Magazine (print and online) and was ranked as one of the countrys top ten artists in Pop, Rock & Electronica categories at www.americanidolunderground.com. At www.garageband.com, he has frequently held track of the day and track of the week honors. He has worked with Larry Gold, producer and arranger of such artists as Jay Z, Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Teddy Pendergrass, George Thorogood, Billy Blaugh and Hank Carter (The Delaware Destroyers). Farmer is currently in collaboration with Ed Unitsky, a Belarus artist who is designing Farmers latest effort. Frankford Wayne Recording Studios, which has served the likes of Suzanne Vega, Moby, Jay Z, Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, Erykah Badu and more, is doing the mastering on Seeing Red. Farmer has shared the stage with such superstars as Patti Smith, James Cotton and Robert Hunter of The Grateful Dead, just to name a handful. Im dedicated to producing original recordings for release and sale, as well as promoting soundtracks for movies and television, says Farmer of his current activities besides polishing work on his forthcoming disc. Of Seeing Red, he says, This is an incredible production of alternative rock mixed with the power of fusion/improvisation and influenced by the music, people and events in the world today. Seeing Red is a collision of the independent music revolution and the new political revolution. He believes that it is something only an indie artist could have gotten away with creating and cites his new album as an example of artistic freedom. In a Dream by Robert Farmer is an absolute must for any sensible person's CD collection, and for any aspiring musician and composer who'd like some hints at what's possible at the upper end of the excellence spectrum. Buy this album if you have more than a few brain cells... it'll be the best thing you did in a very long time because it's quite possibly one of the best albums your likely to hear outside of a major label's A&R department! Colin Lynch - October 29, 2006 IOM MAGAZINE www.rcatcommunications.com ? 2006 R Cat Communications Ltd All Rights Reserved GREAT MUSICIANSHIP & LYRICALLY OUTSTANDING! Indie soft rock with an edge. Inventive guitar and key sections. All these tracks have a very classic feel to them all around. Great musicianship. The vocals drenched in reverb and the music synth melodic progressions bring to mind bands like Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, or the Cure. Lyrically outstanding. Lyrics and vocals are both a perfect fit for the music itself. Most songs are very full and very well written. The string sections on "Angel On The Rooftop" give great depth to the material. This is great material with a good range of diversity and feel. Member Services Dept. A&R Select 8286 Santa Monica Blvd West Hollywood, CA 90046 323-924-5897 HEY MOVIE GUYS!!! HERE IT IS! Tracy Nicolaus/Northern California Wow this is a really great CD! The guitar is outstanding! I have never heard such a beautiful combination of acoustic and tech combined. Quite a task! The electronica geeks overdo and the true acoustical genius doesn't know their way around a keyboard.........You my friend have mastered both! This will be in a movie, mark my words! Extra credit: Guitars, Programming, Production, Mood, Originality, Best Potential Movie Soundtrack. EACH SONG IS A GEM Sound Check Weekly Marie Sterner-Philadelphia, PA "Each song is a gem individually, whatever the tempo, yet the band maintains complete continuity throughout their show. They have the ability to write songs that have both sensitivity and balls, without molding to anyone else's standards of excellence, plus continue to mature and expand as one of the premiere talents in the Philadelphia area". SHOULD BE PLAYED ON EVERY ALTERNATIVE STATION! Bill LaFleur-Long Branch, N.J. This work is superbly produced and arranged. Guitar work is unbelievable! Going from "tough" Merle Haggard twang electric to beautiful "Yes" acoustic. One of the most original and creative works I've heard yet on the internet. Should be played on every alternative station. Great guitars, keyboards, production, mood and originality.
