Band/artist history
Rob spent much of the 90's lurking around the fringes of the Chicago underground music scene; most notably with Thunk and Mosquitohead; honing his songwriting skills as well as learning to sing and play guitar and bass onstage infront of paying customers.
The new millenium thus far has been spent building a digital recording studio (Hermetic Medical Records), writing and working on a novel (Aftermarket Soul- should be available soon), and perfecting his recording and production skills with solo projects and various other musicians/ bands (Everest, Stunt Puddles, Marcus Dunleavy).Have you performed in front of an audience? One of my greatest joys in life is to get on stage and have absolutely no idea what I am going to do, which I liken to jumping out of a plane and knitting a parachute on the way down.
Your musical influences
I love music that takes chances. 'I am the Walrus' era Beatles, early Pink Floyd (Meddle and Obscured by Clouds), Flaming Lips, Radiohead, Camper Van Beethoven, and Robyn Hitchcock are among my biggest influencesWhat equipment do you use?
Magix 7.0 Studio Deluxe, has all the midi and audio recording needs all wrapped up in one package. What a powerful tool...
As far as guitars... I play an American Fender Stratocaster, an Ovation Acoustic/ Electric Bass, an Ovation Acoustic/ Electric Guitar, and a Washburn AcousticAnything else?
