Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I'm playing three types of music: 1. Singer/songwriter, both electric and acoustic. 2. Experimental electronic music. 3. South Indian/World music.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I love playing live. I play around in the San Francisco Bay area, often with Roger Winkelman on bass, or with Roger and the rest of RagaPhonia. I June I hit Electro-music 2006 in Philadelphia, playing electronic music. Last year RagaPhonia played at Kannadotsava, to an all-South Indian audience. I loved it.
Your musical influences
I'm putting up songs with edge. If you like concrete lyrics, good guitar work, sometimes floating electronic sounds, it should work for ya. Additional variety on www.robertedgar.com
What equipment do you use?
Metasonix vacuum tube modules, Macintosh dual-core laptop, Taylor Koa 6-string, Roland GR-33 MIDI synth, Boomerange phrase sampler.
Anything else?
It's in the music.
