Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?

Rivers has just signed a 3 song production deal and is currently working with producer Dick Hodgin (Hootie & The Blowfish, Far Too Jones, COC) at Osceola Studios in Raleigh.
Originally from upstate NY, Rivers is now living in Raleigh, NC and has been playing the Raleigh NC music scene for the last 7 years. He has had 2 songs licensed nationally for national retail stores overhead music system (Books a Million, Walmart, Borders, Target etc. ). Recently his songs "Lonely Girl" and "Sunday Morning" have been put in heavy rotation on WBZB 1090 Radio in Raleigh, NC.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
As much as I possibly can. The feeling I get from playing live is nothing short of electric. For me, it's like all the possible emotions a person can have just fuse together and blast my body all at once. Pleasure, Fear, Anger, Happiness, Sadness, Love, Hope, Anticipation etc.
It's just an incredible experience. Even playing in the most remote location, in the smallest room makes me feel like this. It doesn't matter if there is only one person in the room, it's all good.
Your musical influences
Collective Soul, The Eagles, AC/DC, Shawn Mullins, Simon And Garfunkle, Train, Drivin & Cryin. Basically guitar driven radio rock and a ton of vocal harmonies. Vocal harmonies are EXTREMELY important to me.
What equipment do you use?
Bogner amps, Gibson, PRS, Taylor, and Takamine Guitars, Sure Beta58 mics, soundforge and aardvark recording systems, with PRO Tools soon to be implemented now that digi design has a solid windows platform.
Anything else?
Music is like oxygen to me. I'd die without it.
