Rick Parker
For years I've moved from one genre to the next, but I am classifiably a folk artist. I also play classical piano, but I will put that stuff on a different site. My main influence is Celtic--both Irish and Scottish--but I also play and sing traditional Americana. The songs I write myself would be the latter with an obvious Celtic influence. In the past I played the Great Highland Bagpipes as both a soloist and in a pipes and drum corp in Atlanta, Georgia.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Not often, but I have a few times. I've played the Dark Horse Tavern and Limerick Junction both in Mid-town Atlanta. I have also performed in the ballroom of Trump Plaza Casino in Atlantic City. I played many live performances as a piper from highland game competitions, to weddings and funerals as well as private parties at the British Consul in Atlanta and other institutions.

Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Clancy Brothers, The Battlefield Band, Union Station, Flogging Molly, The Pouges, King Crimson, Paul Simon, Peter Gabriel, Joe Jackson, Beethoven, Bach, The Talking Heads, Velvet Underground, John Denver, David Bowie. Is this getting silly enough yet? I think you get the point.
What equipment do you use?
Susato whistles, Fender accoustic guitar, Nordiska piano, and a Yamaha electronic keyboard.
