Rickie Lee Robertson
Hearing Springsteen's Thunder Road in the early eighties inspired me to pick up the guitar ("...and I learned how to make it talk"). Simultaneously, having grown up on country music, I was influenced by the artists and songwriters coming out of Nashville. I began writing songs almost immediately with the goal of having the same emotional impact on listeners that my favorite songs always have on me. It's a never ending quest, I haven't written my best song yet.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I do play live. Mostly in my living room, but sometimes in the basement, and every once in a while the bedroom, although my wife doesn't enjoy sharing the bed with my guitar (She told me she wanted to make some beautiful music together?)
Your musical influences
Songwriters: Springsteen, Beatles, Eagles, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, John Prine, Hag; along with every writer of every great song I've ever heard!
What equipment do you use?
Tacoma acoustic guitar, Fender Telecaster
Anything else?
Hope you enjoy what you hear. Spread the word if you do. Keep it to yourself if you don't ;-)
