Rick Flowers

Well, it's just me, Rick Flowers. On my current CD, "Against The Wall", I'm playing all the instruments and doing all the vocals.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I've played with many bands over the last 30 years. Some of them were better than others but I think the real reward came when I started working solo. I finally got to do what I had always been wanting to do and that was travel and play my music.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
At the moment I'm taking some time off from playing live in order to write and record my new CD which is as of yet untitled.
Your musical influences
The first band I fell in love with was the Beatles. My father bought me my very first album, not CD (lol) in 1965 and I was hooked. I sat in front of my grandmothers TV in 1964 and watched them on The Ed Sullivan Show and that was all it took. I also listen to a lot of blues stuff like Clapton, Stevie Ray, The T-Birds and others. I was also influenced by the Stones, however, as much as I like to think I was influenced by these guys my music doesn't sound like any of them. I've said it before, music is a very personal thing for me and I don't try to sound like anybody but who I am. Good or bad, there it is.
What equipment do you use?
I play a Dean electric, and a yamaha acoustic. I use a Yamaha MD8 board along with all the other essential PA equipment. The list would be too long and boring to put here.
Anything else?
All I can say is that, "Without music, life is but a bore".
