Restless Moon
Restless Moon is a one-man progmetal project from the Netherlands, with vocals, guitars, keyboard, bass and drums. Also some other instruments might be used if necessary.
Midi programming is also part of the package.
I am very much into rock and metal, and specifically into the progressive side of it, so that can be found in the music written for Restless Moon. Heavy or gentle, or in between, but always looking for that good melody.

Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Plans for Restless Moon were started years ago, under a different name, although never came to something.
After some emotional experience in life, lots of inspirations arose, at first in lyrics, and later the music came with it. The first new music for Restless Moon was written somewhere during autumn 2004.
The first recordings were the song Echoes From Beyond, already written for the band Buxom Prime, and the lyrics fitted very well within the lyrics that were written until then, and also it was a good test case in recording a song that was already existing.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Restless Moon does not play live, as it is a one man's project. Restless Moon gives me the oppurtunity to work on new ideas, make own decisions and try to create things the way I feel it should be, although useful feedback is very welcome. It might change pieces of songs a bit, based on helpful critisism.
Your musical influences
Musical influences? The music must be influenced by any music that's been listened to. Some influenced must be:
'80's speed metal, thrash metal, and '90's and today's progmetal, progrock and sympho rock.
Silenxce ('80's dutch speed metal band), Dream Theater, Pain Of Salvation, Iron Maiden.
Several musicians, unknown wheater they were of a big influence, but that might evoke too high expectations about my abilities... or just too modest? ;-)
Just listen to the music and judge for yourself... :-)
What equipment do you use?
General description of equipment:
Ibanez Prestige RG- and S-series with piezo bridge, Yamaha 12 string electric guitar (soon equipped with piezo brigde), Ibanez BTB bass, General Music keyboard, Roland TD-6 drums, Sennheiser and AKG microphone.
recorded on a Pentium4 PC @ 2800 MHz and 1GB RAM.
Anything else?
At this moment, all rhythm guitars and bass have been rerecorded.
Next step is to record acoustic and clean guitars.
Finally the guitar solos, vocals and drums. Currently all drums have been midi programmed.
Remixing and mastering will take place thereafter.
