Red Meat

California's real Honky-Tonk band shines like burning stars in the Bakersfield sky. Red Meat marinate their warm and tangy twang with close gospel-influenced, male/female harmonies, textured fiddle tones, weeping pedal steel, tube-toned guitar picking, sweet mandolin chimes, an elastic rhythm section, and the occasional old-timey yodel. Encompassing the gamut of Americana, Red Meat effortlessly weave in and out of Western Swing Revival, folkie country songs, and lonesome, California Honky-Tonk angel anthems.
We've been quite fortunate to play some great shows. Mostly in California but, we venture off to TN, TX, NM, AZ, WA, OK, IL, MO, NC, SC, and VA.
Louvin Bros., George Jones, Stanley Bros., Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Lefty Frizzel, and a whole bunch of others.
From a fellow Dodge Dart owner ('72 Swinger owned since '87):

By the way, our rhythm picker, Ken Mottet is from Fairfield, IA. Do any of you Iowans know where Palmyra, MO? I've been in Chicago for 25 years, but I still call Palmyra home. My dad used to drive a truck for Ruan out of Ft. Madison. If the world gets any smaller, we're not gonna have anyplace to stand. :)
