Red Dwarf
i made a lame-ass deal with my roommate that has resulted in me creating a my space site for red dwarf. too bad there is some shitty band out of california that no one cares about that took the url first. so it is www.myspace.com/gettinghitbycars instead. also, my pimping profits have been low lately, just thought you guys should know when i come to kick your girlfriends' asses.

SOoooooooooooo. It's been a while guys. We've been playing as much as possible considering we're spread across the country--so we've played two shows in the past year. HOWEVER, (you might have to sit down for this) Chad and I have been writing and writing and writing and writing and it seems as if a new Red Dwarf album will be heading your way this summer, only this time I can actually sing decently, Pinkeye is still dominating the four-string, and Gordon is still, well, Jiffy Pop. And this time.......we'll be using a studio. That's right bitches, the Dwarf is going to have a full length studio album. Brace yourselves....

I'm working to get a live video of the Dwarf playing GSP at Ground Zero up on the net, so check back soon.

**Many of the songs on the Music page are not the final-even better-versions that are on the cd, AND, there are MANY songs on the cd that do not appear on the music page**
One more note: If you visit this band page and listen to a song or something, and you don't write on the message board, you should. It's really easy to create an account, all it takes is a password and a screenname. there is no fee and it takes about a minute. we can see page statistics for our site, and it's obvious that people are coming and listening, but it looks like no one but us ever comes here from the message board--so if you're one of those people, take a couple seconds and tell us what you think.Band/artist history
Alright here goes....
Around the beginning of my Freshman year of high school, I got an electric guitar and my friend Gordon and I decided we thought it'd be cool if we started a band while we were riding on a school bus listening to some music. Gordon had a drum set at his house so I found the closest thing I could to an amplifier, about a 5 watt kereoke machine from my sisters bedroom, and headed over to Gordon's house every once in a while. We didn't write too much for a long time because I sucked and you couldn't hear the guitar over the drums anyway. I eventually I got a louder amp though, and Gordon's girlfriend volunteered to play bass. She had a kickass basement, so we all ended up taking our stuff to her house every Friday night. I eventually got a PA system and started singing and attempting to write songs. I remember we had some song called Dingbats on Parade and another called Feedback. We were having fun, but we sucked ass. Just before the summer of my sophomore year (i think) we added another guitar player, Ryan Sterns, to our line up. Sterns kicked ass. We had lots of cool concepts and he made our band a little less shitty. Meanwhile, I was listening to a lot of Operation Ivy, and thought Lint was the man. So I started another band with a kid named Kyle, called the Ten Cent Whores with the intention of just being a guitar player and singing some backups, while he played bass. We played one show about 2 short practices later but it was pretty shitty (I remember playing an Op Ivy cover, a Rancid cover, and Bliztkrieg Bop about 3 or 4 times). After summer gordon's girlfriend dumped him, and that combined with the fact that we couldn't seem to stop sucking was the death of our band (Bigfoot Skinnies). Seeing as how we still needed a drummer, Gordon joined TCW. I don't remember why or how, but for some reason we ended up over at Chad's house recording a song we wrote called Caffeine Machine (you can hear Red Dwarf's take on this song in the MUSIC section of our page) with a kid named Scott as our vocalist. We were actually sounding good, but if I remember right, Kyle kept messing up the bass part and Chad who played bass was always writing parts for him. Whatever it was, we kept having practice at Chad's house and slowly Chad started playing bass while Kyle occasionally (and increasingly more frequently) was not informed of the practices. Chad eventually became the permanent bass player. One day at a TCW practice I brought in a song called Full Moon (check out the MUSIC section). Scott had left to take someone home or something and since he was gone I filled in on vocals. We all liked the song and so decided we would save the song as a Red Dwarf song, ( i had talked to gordon about forming a new band, red dwarf, with chad while kyle was still the tcw bassist ) Over the next summer Scott left for college and thus Gordon, Chad, and I started writing songs for Red Dwarf. Soon we were loved by millions and on our way to superstardom.
-ryanHave you performed in front of an audience? We've played live a bit, but more shows are coming. We're probably the best live band ever, so if you see that a show is coming up you'd be wise to show up.

I heard "I play Mortal Kombat" -it's cool. I think it had a weird structure, but it was artistic and unexpected. The drummer is what impressed me the most and the guitar distortion impressed me the least -since this was the 1st song I've heard from this band. But I don't like how the lyrics were offensive and obscene like that. It's just unneccessary, and besides I can see some of you in the band treat the people that post messages like crap. You're not going to get fans or friends by being full of pride and un-willing to compromise. Also consider deleting some of these messages on your board.
