Rebel Alliance
Renegade Artistry Records is a label that is dedicated to producing distinctive and exciting hip hop that stands out from the bland generic industry rubbish that makes up most of the urban scene in this day and age. Formed in 2003 by members of the Rebel Alliance hip hop and drum n bass collective, RA records music cannot be categorised by its sound, but simply by its quality and commitment to evolving this artform we all love in a conscious, positive and most of all original direction.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
We started as a Drum & Bass crew, but we always had a love for HipHop. We experimented with beats and rhymes, and found a unique style that we could take forward.
After a couple of years developing our skills our skills we formed our record label (Renegade Artistry Records) and we are releasing our first CD "Renegade Artistry" in April 2006.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Last show were at was the Speakers Corner live special, oooh what a night! We are playing again in Brixton 13 Dec 06.
Your musical influences
We've been musically influenced by many different styles from Indonesian folk music to dark side Drum n Bass. Hiphop that has influenced us includes WuTang, Big Pun, NWA, Public Enimy, Slim Shady (the old nasty sh*t), 2Pac, Talib Kweli, Phi Life Cypher, Skinnyman, Jurassic 5, plus too many more to mension!
