Reighn was raised on the "Westside" of Baltimore, Maryland, the son of Sharon, a singer and city worker, and Junnie. When Reighn was a child, his father, aged 43, an associate of Ronald Bell and Melvin Williams (the Baltimore drug lords), passed away due to cancer. Williams and rival gangster Nathan Barksdale both publicly state that they were close to Junnie.
Reighn says he was given the nickname "Rych" as a child as a play on his birth name and "Rychie" was another version of the name. When the cartoon classic would come on the television his mother would say "That's going to be you one day, my very own Rychie Rych".
Reighn graduated in 2003 still immersed in the gangster lifestyle common to so many of Baltimore's youth, Reighn grew distant from his friends and loved ones, who had originally been in favor of his career move. Inevitably culminating into tragedy, rivalry, gang violence, drugs, and unemployment. Reighn studied how Nas did a song backwards ['Rewind']... because it was a brilliant idea. That describes how Reighn wanted a flow that was effervescent and had inticacy but not always have to make words rhyme as long as he is charismatic and can run over from one beat into the next or even into another bar.
Reighn has been praised for his ability to create a "devastating match between lyrics and production" by his peers, as well as creating a "perception of life on the street", and he has even been compared to Rick Ross and Eminem for his lyrical technique. In his first book of rhymes, Reighn states, "I am perhaps rap's greatest innovator of songwriting. His catalog creates a style of rapping that is more conversational than ever before but still relatable to current times. Reighn on his way to becoming one of the "Greatest MCs of All Time".Your musical influences
