Whats up, it's controversy from Real Life Records. As of right now the M.C.I. Militia compilation is still set to hit the streets by Spring 2004. Some brief news is i will be taking a college course soon where i will be in a studio developed by Universal in East Chicago.....so my music is going to sound 10 times proffesional and there will also be unknown artists from various states whos cd's i will be working on. So definetly be on the look out. Feel free to post a message on our board, we contact everyone back so give us your honest opinion. But Real Life Records is realizing day by day, there is more and more haters trying to stop the shine of true genuine artists such as our selves. See they feel insecure cuz not only has our songs taken over a city it has extended across NW Indiana. Between our collaberation with Game Face Records and Mid Function, we have the hottest talent in Indiana, from our young gunner's such as my cuzin Traumatic and J-Slim to our producers as my self and our talented artists like C-Black holding it down for East Chicago. Right now i have taken to the point where im only doing guest appearances, ive been rapping now for too long, so ive turned to persue younger and better talent who can work with my new hot beats and is willing to learn this thang we call the rap game. SO LOOK OUT FOR THAT M.C.I. COMPILATION HITTING THE STREETS SPRING 2004.....(for more information on new Cd releases and all listings of who is to appear on the new cd please go to the news link on the top right of the page)
Controversy
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I myself (CONTROVERSY) have been rappin for close to seven years now, ive also done a few shows around the NW Indiana and plan on extending our music to further parts of the country little by little. It all started when i was about 9 years old and for my Birthday i got a Karokee machine. Little did i know that this would be the start of something so big. Me and my two cuzzins, the hypnist and traumatic, started beat boxing on one tape then would play it back and spit freestyles over the other tape. Little by little this progressed to become a love and something we were given to do as a talent. As the years went by we continued to do more music and get better equipment. By 1998 we had gotten to four track mixer's, and cheap beat making equipment which at the time we thought was good enough(all trapped in a moment.) And then by 1999 i had completed my first full demo tape, with songs like My Brother My Keeper, and Sucidal. My cuzin Danny a.k.a. The Hypnist developed this style with fast words and the biggest vocabulary i had ever heard of. I mean this cat was smart, not no dummy, so his educational status also reflected his music, just pure intellegence. Well after we had both done solo projects we turned to develope a group called Broken Society which had intended to fail before it even got started. (i think we released two songs) So then it was back to solo projects with guest apperances with him on my cd, which turned out to be the peoples favorite songs with hits like Shorty Work That Ass and Danger Danger. Well while i was starting a newer demo, i started hanging out with them boys on the south chiling in my sisters garage which we called a studio. We had a t.v. and everything you would really need out there. This was the start of a group called Cash Cruxifix, where were building up potential for something big, thats how i met Skrill, C-Black, and lil D. We'll as time went by my music has just progressed and progressed, i mean you only get better its not like you get worse when you keep doing something, ya know?? So here i am today 18 years old, which is very young but im a Veteran to this game, whether people believe it or not. But i think im at that point to step it up a notch, let another person like my self have a chance at this music, and start looking at it as more of a business, but still keeping my mind on track becuz this is also my first love. So just be on the look out for any of my new artists and new beats.....ohhh yeah and to yall who use my beats without contacting me or getting concent, all beats are copywritten and i will take legal action.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I have played in local spots such as Santiago's, Bobby Georges, and live shows at the beach with groups such as 3-D and other versatile styles of music.
Your musical influences
My biggest musical influence i would say is old skool artists such as scarface, tupac, and biggy and for the new school i like the Diplomats,Grind Family C.C.A. and the whole roc-a-fella fam. Ones that keep it real and dont hide behind a image.
What equipment do you use?
