"Another end-of-summer 2006 surprise: a first-class salsa project that will keep the dancers on the floor" Bruce Polin, Descarga.com Since its inception in 2001, Ray Rodriguez & Swing Sabroso have generated a growing number of loyal fans with a hot "Salsa Dura" sound. The groups distinctive style is the result of the unique and extensive musical backgrounds of the bands individual members, who have performed and recorded with some of the most recognizable names in Latin music before joining together to integrate Swing Sabroso. Ray Rodriguez & Swing Sabroso have just released their debut album appropriately entitled Baila con Swing Sabroso, which has been getting great reviews by specialized media. For the recording, the group enlisted the collaboration of experienced arrangers Oscar Hernández, Paquito Pastor and Willie Ruiz. It also features special guest appearances by Dave Valentín, Ray Vega, Pablo "Chino" Núñez and "Pequeño" Johnny Rivero. Ray Rodriguez, Swing Sabrosos leader, was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, the birthplace of Rafael Hernández, Puerto Ricos foremost composer, and raised in New York Citys Spanish Harlem and Brooklyn, homegrounds to Tito Puente, Ray Barretto and many other salsa icons. Ray Rodriguez began his musical career at an early age and went on to study at the renowned Brooklyn Conservatory of Music where he majored in music theory, counterpoint, harmony and arranging. Subsequently, he continued studying at the Bronx Community College and with selected private instructors. Baila con Swing Sabroso is the premier release by World Stage Recordings.
