Band/artist history
RASPATUL is a Death Thrash band from Singapore. Formed in 1996 and with the debut MCD released in 2003 entitled 'Menghitung Ajal' which means 'Counting Death' in English, RASPATUL has managed to get some worldwide underground recognition with positive reviews from various zines all over the globe. The band has appeared in Metal Maniacs under the 'Shorts' section and a positive review from UK's Terrorizer Magazine as well. The name of RASPATUL has been further exposed with the help of getting featured in a few underground Metal compilations, etc... Year 2004, the band has release a new promo CD entitled 'The Perfect Realm Of Jharkyannarkh' which features this brand new song plus 4 RASPATUL live videos in 1 CD. This promo CD has already received really great comments as well as getting internet radio airplay and compilations, etc... RASPATUL recently got a distribution deal with Legion Of Death Records from France and Razorback Records from USA is currently distributing our new promo CD as a sampler CD to labels, etc. It is certainly a huge step for the band with these 2 great labels helping RASPATUL out! RASPATUL is now in the process of writing new material for a debut full length album and so far about 6 songs has been completed. It will promise to be RASPATUL's most aggressive and ferocious material that the band has ever written and RASPATUL will not compromise and only deliver the best!
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes we do play live and we play whenever we are invited to. We love the joy of playing live as we are very energetic when on stage.
Your musical influences
old Sepultura, At The Gates, Kreator, Carcass, Arch Enemy, Dissection, Sil-Khannaz, Morbid Angel, The Crown, Terror Squad, Dimension Zero, etc.
What equipment do you use?
I am using a Jackson Concept Series guitar with EMG's, an Ibanez RG 270 guitar, a Sansamp GT2 as well as a Ibanez Tubescreamer. My bass player is using an old Rickenbacker bass with a Zoom multi-effect. My vocalist uses about any microphones he can get his hands on and my drummer uses Iron Cobra pedals and Paiste splash cymbals.
Anything else?
Thank you so much for reading this interview! We are in the process of writing the last few songs for our new full length album which we hope to start recording by February.
