Heavy Metal

This Filipino band started playing their music at a young age with the influence of Black Sabbath, Metallica, Megadeth, Godsmack, Silverchair, and some local bands such as Wolfgang and Razorback. On their first few months as a band, they started composing their own songs entitled, "Diliryo," and "Uhaw," which both were warmly accepted by everyone who listens to them. Suprisingly, on their first year as a band, they were already able to perform at Manila's coolest rock bar, Mayrics--where great bands are born. Today, as Rapeseed performs in different gigs in manila, they continue to harvest praises from the audience, and some important people playing in the rock music industry.
Band/artist history
Rapeseed was formed in the year 2001, with the enthusiasm of their lead vocals, Jeth and their lead guitarist, Johnnell. For the past three years, this band had encountered several drummers, and bassists, that led them to the best--Ungaz on bass, and Jhey on drums. This band started with nothing, no guitars to strum, nor drums to hit. They had to save a part of their allowances to be able to save money, and through their pursuance, they were able to buy themselves their own instruments, enough instruments to be able to perform live on stage. Performing together as a band made them come up with a different definition for Music, and nothing ever stopped them from improving their songs and performance. Rapeseed is a member of Manila's Musicians for Peace which is an advocate for voicing out their opinions to the social issues happening in our country through the use of music. Recently, they released their self-produced album with their own compositions. Interestingly enough, the band was able to create their album not through a recording studio, but through the brilliance of their home computer and their creative minds. Impressive? Wait till you hear them rock!
